The Fast and the Furious franchise

Wie kent de films met Dominic Toretto, Brian O’Conner en Letty Ortiz nou niet? We praten natuurlijk over The Fast and the Furious filmreeks. Deze actiefilms gaan over auto’s, criminele activiteiten en illegale straatraces. De filmreeks telt inmiddels 11 films waarvan 2 korte films en 1 spin-off. De eerste film ging in première in 2001. Dit jaar (2021) heeft The Fast and the Furious zijn 20-jarige jubileum. Daarnaast komt er dit jaar een twaalfde film uit genaamd F9 (Fast & Furious 9). In deze opkomende film neemt Dominic Toretto en zijn familie het op tegen Cipher. Cipher is van de laatst uitgebrachte film. In de opkomende film zal zij de hulp inschakelen van Jakob Toretto, beter bekend als de moordlustige broer van Dominic Toretto en Mia Toretto. Cipher heeft nog een appeltje te schillen met Dominic na de afloop van The Fate of the Furious (F8). Naast de films bestaat deze franchise ook uit een animatieserie op Netflix waarin het neefje van Dominic Toretto (Tony Toretto) de hoofdpersonage speelt. Deze animatie serie heeft inmiddels al 3 seizoenen. De hoofdpersonage van deze serie wordt ingesproken door Tyler Posey. Tyler Posey is bekend van zijn hoofdrol als Scott McCall in Teen Wolf. Daarnaast zijn er 3 computerspellen uitgebracht van de Fast en Furious franchise. Alle 3 de spellen zijn racespellen. Het eerste spel ‘The Fast and the Furious’ kwam uit als een Arcadespel in 2004, de tweede ‘The Fast and the Furious’ kwam 2 jaar later uit voor de Playstation 2 en Playstation Portable en als laatste ‘Fast & Furious: Showdown’ werd uitgebracht in 2013 voor verschillende consoles.

 

 

Films

Zoals eerder benoemd zijn er in totaal 11 films uitgebracht en is er nog een film dat komend jaar uitkomt. De korte films zijn: The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious en Los Bandoleros. Daarnaast vind de spin-off na The Fate of the Furious plaats. Hierbij praten we over Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. De films zijn echter niet helemaal op chronologische volgorde als dat ze in première zij gegaan. De Chronologische volgorde van deze films luidt als volgt:
